YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 Grand Finale Holds in Sydney Opera House

YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 members showed their own countries' flags in Sydney last week

101 musicians from 33 countries have gathered together to perform in YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 Grand Finale in Sydney Opera House. With music dedicated to victims of the natural disasters in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, the concert streamed live yesterday via YouTube Symphony Channel.

Artists in the orchestra were chosen last year by leading orchestras around the world and the YouTube community. Michael Tilson Thomas - Grammy-award winning YouTube Symphony Orchestra Artistic Advisor is the conductor of the orchestra. Repertoire for the symphony concert finale includes Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, Stravinsky's Firebird and Mothership, and a specially commissioned piece by American composer Mason Bates.
