YouTube 100 Tells You the Hottest YouTube Music

YouTube 100 music chart
Something amazing happened on YouTube two days ago. It's YouTube 100 - a weekly updated chart used for showing the top 100 popular music content streamed on the Google-owned video site. The chart launched on YouTube Music just a couple of hours ago. YouTube Music Product Manager Chris LaRosa announced the news on YouTube Official Blog.

"The YouTube 100 measures song traffic across official music videos, user-uploaded videos and viral debuts..", LaRosa said. So the chart counts not only fame pop singers' songs, but also music works from amateurs, which is the major difference among some existing music charts, such as Billboard Hot 100 and VEVO's charts. Everyone has the chance to shine their new idea in their music videos whether it's viral debut, a parody, remix of an existing song or your own version of a song or a music video. For example, I find a fan-made video showing lyrics of Adele's Someone Like You at No.42 on the chart.

This week, Pop Queen Lady Gaga's music video 'Judas' is at the second place on the YouTube 100 chart and Bruno Mars's 'The Lazy Song' music video is at No.5. Jennifer Lopez's 'On The Floor' tops the chart and Rebecca Black's 'Friday' is in the top 10. Check this YouTube Downloader if you want to download them to your computer.

The YouTube 100 music chart offers a better way for uses to track song popularity. What's more, it offers more chances to not only professional singes but also music fans to show their music works. I appreciate the chart and expect more great features from YouTube in the future.

YouTube had been working on helping users to discover popular and trending videos on the site. For example, in January this year, YouTube Acquired Fflick to help users discover and share hot videos from social media sites.
