YouTube Supports Https Videos Embed

YouTube logo
YouTube has already used HTTPS protocol to transfer sensitive account and video stream data between users' computers and web server. On February 9, YouTube API Blog reported that YouTube has enabled its HTTPS videos to be embedded on web page.

To try HTTPS YouTube video embeds, you just need to change the 'http' in the URL to 'https'. For example, change 'http://www.youtube.com/embed/xxx' to 'https://www.youtube.com/embed/xxx'. It works in both the new <iframe> embed code and old <object>+<embed> code.

When playing YouTube videos using HTTPS protocol on web page, only the YouTube video player is accessible, the actual video streams is encrypted for transferring between your computer and web server. But the other videos in a HTTPS embedded player are still streamed via HTTP protocol.
