Businessweek reported that the world biggest video sharing website YouTube is racking up 3 billion views a week from its Ad-linked videos, an increase of 50% from May, bringing more revenue to its owner Google to realize the profit and loss balance.
Video clips makers has also greatly increased their sales from the growth of Ad embedded videos, said Shishir Mehrota, YouTube director of product management. Currently, total views from videos on the site reaches 14 billion views a week – approximately one-fifth of total video views are making money.
"A lot of it is based on growing ad products as well as growing inventory," Mehrotra said in an interview. "Our partners are starting to see real success on the platform, and so they’re starting to invest."
