YouTube Video Voice Control Using Chrome HTML5 App

YouTube Voice Control
By taking advantage of Google Chrome's Voice Input API, Chrome HTML5 extension developer roschler has developed a YouTube Voice Control App, which can control the video playback via voice. The app uses Google's speech servers to do the speech recognition and let the client side web page to do the rest jobs.

Note: Voice Input API requires Chrome 11 beta or newer!

Here's how to use the YouTube Voice Control App:

  • Video Search - Click the microphone icon and say some keywords. You will see the search results appear below. For example, try saying "Google Python"
  • Play a Video - Click the microphone icon and say "PLAY" followed by one or more words from the title of the video you want to play.
  • Stop/Resume a Video - Click the microphone icon and say "STOP" to stop the currently playing video, and "PLAY" (by itself) to resume it.
