On July 13, Google employee David announced in YouTube Help forum that YouTube begins to support resumable media upload. Now you can resume your video upload from an Internet connection problem or a browser crash and don't need to restart the upload.
The brand new feature only works in Chrome and Firefox 4 or higher.
David explained this in the post that:
This means if you have a supported browser (Chrome or FF4+), you can upload, pull the plug, resume, and expect it to pick up from where it left off. In our testing the resumability is consistently more reliable than the java uploader. As I have mentioned before, we plan to get rid of the Java uploader entirely once we are truly confident in the effectiveness of this. Anyway, I will provide some updates once this is actually live later today.
I'm having rejoice with this new feature in the YouTube uploader tool.
